Innovative Support of Disabled People in Employment

The focus of this workshop is on assisting staff to enhance their support of disabled people, and those with an injury or illness in employment.

This training:

1. Explores practical issues and solutions to consider when supporting disabled people and those with an injury or illness in employment.
2. Provides material about the disability community, to help support disabled people in employment.

Topics include:

• The status of the disability community in employment.
  
• Background information to consider in planning support.
  
• Effective performance management.
  
• Case studies of people in employment with a different disability, injury or illness.
  
• What are some possible employment barriers?
  
• What are some possible actions to overcome these barriers?
  
• Resources in the community that can assist this support.
  
• Planning for the future.
