Project Manager, Wayne Francis Charitable Trust Transition Project for Disabled Students, 2007 -
The focus of this project is to enhance effective transition of disabled students from secondary school into other settings. My role involved developing and working with a multi-agency advisory group, completing a needs analysis, a review of national and international transition literature, presenting the findings and assisting the development of options for the future.


Child, Youth & Family Working Group, Service Design for Disabled Parents, 2006 -
In 2006 Child, Youth and Family commissioned a project to assess the support of disabled and Deaf parents in their parenting role. With Sue Gates from the Donald Beasley Institute, I have facilitated and analysed focus groups for disabled parents throughout New Zealand and presented the findings with recommendations. I was also a member of the project working group, researched and wrote literature reviews focusing on the needs Deaf parents and those who are blind or vision impaired.   
Project Manager,
CCS Disability Action Mentoring Programme for Disabled School Students, 2005 - .
Over the past 3 years I have developed and coordinated mentoring for CCS Disability Action in Christchurch, in association with Karen Rickerby. This mentoring is for disabled secondary school students, aged between 13 -18 years, and they are linked up with an adult mentor with disability. Jonathan Mackie from CCS Disability Action has now taken over coordinating this programme, with my support. This mentoring programme and its associated systems can easily be adapted for another organisation. They include recruitment, administrative and monitoring processes and a training package for the students and mentors.

Evaluation, Intersectoral Disability Needs Assessment and Service Co-ordination Trials, 2004-05.
I was part of an evaluation team from the Donald Beasley Institute. This team completed an independent evaluation of 3 Intersectoral Disability Needs Assessment and Service Co-ordination Trials in Wellington, Rotorua and Christchurch/South Canterbury. I was specifically responsible for the evaluation of the Christchurch/South Canterbury trial and other project areas. This work involved evaluating the process used by the LifeLinks staff, in-depth interviews, working with a Maori and Pasifika Researchers and families, analysis of the outcomes, writing and presenting a report for the MoH and the Interagency Working Group.
Project Manager, Development of the Kia Orite Achieving Equity: NZ Code of Practice, 2003-04.
This is an auditing tool for polytechnics, universities, colleges of education and wananga to assist them with their support of disabled students and those with an injury or illness. I was responsible for drafting this Code of Practice, the Implementation Toolkit, the associated consultation processes and feedback analysis.
Project Manager, Young People Designing Their Own Futures: Research Project, 2003-04.
This project focused on identifying and removing barriers to transition of disabled youth from school to their next stage in life. I co-managed this project with Karen Rickerby, and Missy Morton was our research supervisor. We held focus groups with disabled students, school leavers, parents/caregivers and staff associated with CCS Disability Action. Then we analysed, wrote and presented the findings to a range of agencies and conferences.
Community Participation Project: People with Disabilities Finding Their Place, 2003-04.
This Donald Beasley Institute Research Team was contracted by CCS Disability Action National Office to investigate what community participation meant for their service users and how best to support them. I was responsible for interviewing service users and staff in Christchurch, the analysis of outcomes, assisting development of the final report and presenting the findings to the CCS National Conference and Office.
Project Manager, Public Service Employer of Choice Project, State Services Commission, 2001.
Development of strategies for improving recruitment and retention of disabled graduates in the Public Service. With this project I surveyed and interviewed disabled graduates located throughout NZ about their experiences of the Public Service. I also analysed, wrote and presented the findings to the SSC.

Short-term management contract, assessment of placements, presenter and mentor Disability Mentoring Day, judging panel for Mainstream awards, telephone surveys and mentoring.
